Merry Christmas!

POSTED: November 28, 2008

Greetings and salutations on this Black Friday, day after Thanksgiving.

I have an update for you fine Tom and Jerry fans of this world:

I have one new coloring page image! I've added 3 new images to the gallery! And on top of all that I have 2 new desktop wallpapers!

POSTED: November 27, 2008

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

POSTED: November 16, 2008

It's cold outside this blustery November 16th evening. But through I bring good tidings: I have an update in the works. I'll be adding a few new pictures and wallpapers. YAY! They aren't ready yet to be posted, but I just wanted to give you guys a heads up about it.

Also, there is a new friend of Tom and Jerry Online named shorToons. It is a site that has gathered cartoons from youTube and put them all on one page. So instead of searching all of youTube for a particular cartoon, this site has big list displayed. Go over and check it out.

Things have slowly settled down as my wife and I are adjusting to temporary housing as we wait to be able to move into our house (the people we bought the house from are still living there till the end of the year). Enough of my personal life, you are here for Tom and Jerry stuff.

So with this being the 2nd day of November and the 2nd to last month of the year I bring tidings about 2009. More specifically, Tom and Jerry 2009 calendars!

And since the end of the year is almost upon us that means the so is Christmas. So for some Christmas themed goodness:

POSTED: October 06, 2008

So it is October, and I've not updated this site since August. To be completely honest, it's been difficult to do any updates in a time of home and job transitions and I've found my motivation lacking. With all the address changes and packing and miscellaneous things here and there, adding one more thing just isn't that appealing when all I want to do is collapse and sleep. However, I've been trying to keep my ears open to any news, but I've not heard anything. Hopefully, when things settle down a bit for the holidays I can add some more pictures to the site. I also got some new information on the music used in the cartoons that I hope to add as well.

*sigh* well, it's back to the packing.

POSTED: August 31, 2008

On the Last Day of August, 2008 Tom and Jerry Online was updated with 7 new images in the pictures gallery. There is also a new Desktop wallpaper in the wallpaper gallery. There is also one new model sheet. Now I just have to find the time to work on that episode guide...sheesh.

For those in the US, I hope you are all having a great Labor Day weekend!

POSTED: August 21, 2008

Well it's the end of August...well almost. My long quest to have a good episode guide for Tom and Jerry Kids is coming shortly coming to an end. A buddy of mine recorded several of the cartoons that air on Cartoon Network and I plan on sitting (suffering) through each cartoon to get the guide completed. I hope to start really soon, but I've got a house on the market and a new job so I'm making no definitive dates.

Also, for those that use checks in the US, there is a place that is offering Tom and Jerry check designs. I'm quite happy about this!

POSTED: August 07, 2008

Hello Tom and Jerry fans!

Sorry of the lack of posts. I've had way to much going on lately. Just a quick update. I've taken down part of the music section due to some maintenance. I should have it back up shortly.

Hopefully, things will slow down a bit for me in the next couple of weeks so that I can do some more updates to Tom and Jerry again.

POSTED: June 22, 2008

Anarchy!

I keep apologizing for the lack of updates to the site, but the story of my life is that I've been extremely busy with personal stuff. But I've not been ignoring Tom and Jerry, I've been keeping my eyes and ears open to any news...as best as I could.

I've heard a rumor...only a RUMOR...that the Chuck Jones era of Tom and Jerry may get the DVD treatment. I've not anything substantial on this, as it's just a RUMOR, but I'll let you know as soon as I know.

On something a bit more substantial, Jerry Beck (a cartoon historian) has written a new book and, since I'm telling you, it has to do with Tom and Jerry. The book is called "Tom and Jerry: Insight Mini-Classic" and will be released in September of this year. You can pre-order it here:

Greetings this slow morning of May 29!

This is a message to all those collectors out there. If you are interested in Tom and Jerry figurines, check out this auction on eBay: Vintage Tom and Jerry Ceramic Figurines 1967 MGM.

In fact, you can find lots of neat Tom and Jerry stuff on eBay: Tom and Jerry on eBay

POSTED: May 20, 2008

Ok, I know it's been about a month since I've last updated...I can explain...really...My wife and I have put our condo on the market and are now shopping around for a house. So, that's my excuse...I've been busy house hunting. To make up for my busy life and my negligence of this site I offer you a new section to Tom and Jerry Online: Model Sheets!

Yup, I've found a bunch of Tom and Jerry model sheets online and I decided to put them in their own section instead of mixed into the gallery. Granted, I've got a few model sheets in the gallery, so there may be a few repeats, but hey it's hard to keep track of all the images here. :-]

**UPDATE** Just felt like adding a new wallpaper. Nothing spectacular, but it's the image that is at the bottom of the site. Enjoy! Head over to the wallpaper gallery, it's the first image.

Sorry folks for the lack of news. It has been a hectic time and I've been focusing my attentions elsewhere.

Some DVD news, thanks to Aaron!:

According to TVShowsOnDVD.com, Tom and Jerry Tales vol. 5 is hitting shelves on August 12. Here's their story.

Also, if you want a big image of the box art, go here.

Happy post April 1st.

I've got some information for all those that are curious about the pianist, Jakob Gimpel, that played the piano arrangements in "The Cat Concerto". I've found these two sites that give great details, one of which is the pianist's son:

THE CAT CONCERTO Details
Jakob & Bronislaw Gimpel Archives

I'm also planning on adding a few more pictures to that galleries soon.

Things have been pretty quite on the Tom and Jerry front. I've not heard any news on any new DVD releases. But if I hear anything, naturally, I'll let you all know.

POSTED: March 29, 2008

Sorry for all the down-time folks. It's back to better now!

POSTED: March 25, 2008

Recently I've been getting more emails about the Spotlight Collection DVD recalls. I've decided to add a page to the site that has the information that people would need to get their replacement DVDs. The page, with said information, is located here: Spotlight DVD recall. I will be expanding the information on that page shortly with information on the travesties wroth upon the cartoons by WHV.

POSTED: March 08, 2008

Not much in terms of major updates today. But, I did go through all the links in the links page and cleaned out all the broken links. I've also added a category, on the links page, that is for blogs. I only have two so far, so if anyone has any cartoon blogs that they'd like to share send me the info.

I've also added some new information to The Crew page. Mostly, it's the names of all the animators, artists, and other crew that worked on each episode of the early Tom and Jerry series. I don't have detailed information on them, but I hope to some day :-]

POSTED: February 27, 2008

Yes! In Celebration of National Polar Bear Day, I give to you 20 images! Head on over to the picture gallery and bask in the JPG goodness.

POSTED: February 22, 2008

TGIF on February 22! *ugh* I can't believe I made that reference. *shudder*

Well, I finally did it...no, no image update yet...I finally did something with the music section. After talking about updating it for many, many, many years, I finally have a listing of the music used in the Hanna and Barbera MGM years. The listing isn't truly complete and detailed, but it's something. You can find it here: The Music Listings.

9 more days till the end of February!

Anyway, in the hustle and bustle of redesigning the site and adding new things, I forgot to mention a new book for all you animation historians/fans. It's called Stepping into the Picture: Cartoon Designer Maurice Noble

Here is the press release:
-----------------------------------------------------

Animation genius mastered techniques with Warner Bros., Disney, Dr. Seuss

Fans of animated cartoons find unforgettable the panoramas behind What's Opera, Doc? and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Maurice Noble (1911-2001) pioneered the methods that made "stepping into the picture" not just a visual goal but a high water mark of sophistication in the Golden Age of Animation.

Stepping into the Picture: Cartoon Designer Maurice Noble (University Press of Mississippi) is the first book to provide an in-depth examination of the extraordinary personal journey of one of the pioneers of animation. In a career spanning seven decades, Noble developed a unique creative philosophy that enabled him to play an integral role in making many of the finest and best-loved animated films ever made, including Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Duck Dodgers in the 24½th Century.

Robert J. McKinnon presents an insider's view of the workings of the celebrated Disney Studio from its earliest days. Readers are able to follow Noble's career from its infancy to the triumph of the groundbreaking animated feature Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and up to the notorious strike that irrevocably changed it. This book discusses Noble's unlikely but fortuitous pairing with Theodore Geisel (better known as Dr. Seuss) and Col. Frank Capra. These three helped create inspirational films produced for U.S. Armed Forces.

Noble's best known and most highly regarded work took place at the Warner Bros. Studio. His long and fruitful collaboration there with the legendary director Chuck Jones is examined as never before.

Stepping into the Picture is filled with humorous anecdotes, includes 20 black-and-white pictures, and heretofore never-revealed details. Fans of animated films will be able to go "behind the scenes" and learn how many of their favorite cartoons were created.

Robert J. McKinnon is director of choral music at New Hyde Park Memorial High School. His work has appeared in Comics Journal, Comic Book Marketplace, In Toon Magazine, and Comic Buyer's Guide. Craig McCracken is an accomplished animated caroon artist, writer, director, and producer. He is the creator of The Powerpuff Girls and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.

I've added new info to the original Hanna-Barbera MGM cartoons section, specifically links to the Wikipedia entries for more details plot synopsis as well as adding credits for each episode.

POSTED: February 17, 2008

The day after the new design launch, I've fixed a couple of errors that popped up and now have added a new section detailing the Censorship of Tom and Jerry. Hopefully, I'll have a few more things to add to the site today :-] Stay tuned.

UPDATE
I just added 3 new Desktop Wallpapers!
And 2 new images in the picture gallery...more to come at a later date :-]

On February 16th, 2008, the new layout of Tom and Jerry online has been published!

Yes folks! It has happened. In celebration of Tom and Jerry Online's 10th anniversary we have a new design and layout! Not only that, but it's been 4 years since the last design and it has been in need of a new look recently. I hope that you enjoy this new design, I've spent a lot of time making sure that this layout is standards complient (*pats self on back*).

I still have a few things to fix here and there and it is by no means done. I have work to do in the music section, the crew, and the DVD/VHS area. Plus, I'll be adding new sections as well. Plus, the all important updates to the picture gallery. And, shock of shocks, I will be making this updates in a reasonable amount of time. :-]

I just wanted to let you guys know that the redesign for the site is coming along quite nicely. I'm really excited about it! I'm not giving any timetable for it's completion so as not to rush myself or cause any disappointment if I can't meet it. But, it'll be up soon. :-p

POSTED: January 15, 2008

We are half way through January and that means it's cold outside. Spring is only a few months away and with it brings a new Tom and Jerry DVD. For those of you that enjoy Tom and Jerry Tales, vol 4. is coming to DVD on March 11, 2008.

For those that are wondering how the new site design is coming...I'm still in the design process. I thought I had a good layout, but I was unhappy with it. So it's back to the drawing board.
