May you all have a happy and prosperous New Year!

POSTED: December 24, 2009

Merry Christmas Everyone!

POSTED: November 29, 2009

As promised on this last Sunday of November, I have updated with about 60 model sheets from several Chuck Jones era cartoons.

There is a new DVD release: Tom and Jerry: Greatest Chase Vol. 4:

Greatest Chase Vol. 4 will be released on February 2, 2010.

For those that are wondering about the new Tom and Jerry movie that was announce in January of this year, I have found a plot summary:

The film will introduce the rivalry between Tom and Jerry at the time they first meet. It continues with the pair getting lost in Chicago and must work together on the long journey home.

I'm still cautious about this movie until I see more details. Supposedly, it is being released in 2010, but that could change.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

It is almost Thanksgiving. I can't believe it...2 more days. Where has this year gone?

Well, I'm planning a couple of updates this coming Thanksgiving weekend. But as a prelude to my updates I give you this link: Tom and Jerry Artwork by Oscar Martin

It is a blog in, I believe, Spanish and maintained by Oscar Martin, an artist that draws Tom and Jerry comics. Check it out!

It's October and the leaves are changing color here. The cold is coming...sigh...I'm more of a warm weather person. So, to bring a little warmth in this cooling down season I've added a section for mobile phone ringtones. Yup, I'm making ringtones from Tom and Jerry sounds. Now, before you get all excited there is a small catch: only iPhone ringtones at the moment. There are a lot of phones out there, I know, but I'm starting with one who's format I already know. I'm going to do some more research and see about narrowing down some more ubiquitous formats for ringtones and then add those to the site. This should be interesting.

So, for those iPhone users, head over to the ringtones page and download some tones.

It still boggles the mind that it's September 3rd. The summer seemed to have flown by. Speaking of time flying, it's been about a month since list I updated.

This month's update is a good on. I have uploaded about 20 sound files! That's a lot! I got sound bytes for you from "Little Runaway" (sounds page 2), The Framed Cat, The Duck Doctor (sounds page 4).

Also I've added 2 new links to the links section: Our friends over at shorToons have a Twitter account, so you if you want to follow them go here: http://twitter.com/shortoons . Also for some nifty games, though none Tom and Jerry related, check out Nickelodeon’s 3d Games.

I've been hunting around for information to the rumored Tom and Jerry movie that is supposedly in the works, but information is non-existent. If I hear anything I'll be sure to post that information.

POSTED: August 03, 2009

Ah August, a wonderful month for me. Birthdays and Anniversaries! Yippy. Anyway, you are not here for that, but for things pertaining to Tom and Jerry. So this latest update to the is some new sounds! I've been debating about this update for a while, but I can't see a reason not to put them up since the audio track was restored to His Mouse Friday on the Spotlight DVDs. So, now that you know which cartoon I have sounds from, head over here to grab the sound bytes.

Enjoy!

POSTED: July 24, 2009

So today I had some time to upload some new sounds. I've added 5 sound bytes from "Love that Pup". You can find the new sounds on page 2 of the sounds library.

Enjoy!

POSTED: July 17, 2009

So it's been almost a month. I've not much in the way of updates today, save that I have a couple more sounds that I'm going to be putting up in the next week. I think you'll like them.

I stumbled upon this site a while ago and I want to share this with those that want to draw Tom: How to Draw Tom the Cat from Tom and Jerry

Enjoy!

POSTED: June 25, 2009

Nothing spectacular to report today, the 25th of June. I just added a bit of info on the music of the Chuck Jones era of Tom and Jerry. Mostly just added who wrote the music for each specific cartoon, no greater details than that.

Many thanks to Platon for sending me the info!

It's Father's Day and the first day of summer! YAY! So on this joyous occasion I've made a little update, more of an addition if you will. I've added sounds from "Hic-cup Pup". I thought it fitting since Spike's a dad that is really looking after his boy, caring for him and protecting him. Really deep stuff in a cartoon if you think about it for a while. Buy I digress. Enjoy the sounds, they are on page 2 of the sounds library.

In other news, all's still quite on the proposed Tom and Jerry MMO and on the live action movie. There has been little news that I've seen or heard about, but I'll keep looking.

Also, this Tuesday brings us the release of the Chuck Jones era collection:

And those that were boggled by the release of Tom and Jerry's Greatest Chases Vol 2, here's another head scratcher: Tom and Jerry's Greatest Chases Vol 3.

POSTED: June 03, 2009

I got an email the other day and found a couple news article to corroborate it and I'm still trying to wrap my brain around it. It appears that there is going to be a Tom and Jerry MMOG in the works. Let that sink in for a sec...I'm still trying to figure out how that is going to work. Anyway, here's yesterdays press release:
Los Angeles– June 2, 2009: TurnOut Ventures Limited ( www.TurnOutVentures.com), a joint venture between Turner Entertainment Holdings Asia Pacific Limited and Outblaze Investments Limited, today announced a massively multiplayer online game (MMOG) based on the iconic Tom and Jerry television characters. Set to launch in the second quarter of 2010, the MMOG will open the door to the world of the eponymous cat and mouse duo.

The Tom and Jerry MMOG is being developed by Typhoon Games ( www.TyphoonGames.com), the developer behind Hello Kitty Online and Ben 10 Omniverse. The MMOG is built on the Unity game engine, which makes the game compatible for both PC and Mac platforms when it launches in Asian markets in 2010.

Sorry for the lack of updates. Too many distractions lately. I'll trying to get something newsworthy up soon.

I've been trying to dig up any information on the Tom and Jerry movie that was announced in January. Aside from the original article in Variety I've not heard a blasted thing. So if anyone has any information, we'd all would like to know.

POSTED: April 05, 2009

It has been a really long, long time since I've updated the Tom and Jerry sounds page. I added only one today...it's on page 3 of the sounds. The sound byte is from Smarty Cat where Butch is mimicking Spike's angry bark, all the while Spike is standing behind him. Anyway, now that I have the proper tools to get sound bytes from the cartoons I plan on adding a few more sounds. So keep an eye out.

Spring is in the air and I'm so happy about it!

Anyway, I just found a nifty site that has a Tom and Jerry cake made by Debbie Brown! Along with Tom and Jerry, this wonderful cake designer has other cartoon characters as well. You can find more information on Debbie's Website

Busy, busy, busy!

I've got some great news! It seems like they will be releasing the Chuck Jones Tom and Jerry's on DVD! I just got wind of it this morning. According to TV Shows on DVD:

On June 23rd (a week after the single-disc title is available), Warner will release Tom and Jerry - The Chuck Jones Collection. This 2-DVD set running 216 minutes will include 34 shorts, remastered for this package. Video will be in the original 1.33:1 aspect ratio, with English audio. In addition to the shorts, listed below, there will be two new Bonus Documentaries titled "Tom and Jerry...and Chuck" and "Chuck Jones: Memories of a Childhood". Cost is just $26.99 SRP.

Many thanks to William and a few others for letting us know about this.

Speaking of TV Shows on DVD, they made another announcement for a new Tom and Jerry DVD: TOM AND JERRY'S GREATEST CHASES VOLUME 2. This is being released JUNE 16, 2009. I'm not entirely sure as to the purpose of this release as the Spotlight Collections pretty much took care of the cartoons (with the exception of I believe Mouse Cleaning).

Tom and Jerry Greatest Chases Volume 2 features 14 shorts directed by Hanna-Barbera that were originally released between 1943 and 1951. Two featured shorts, including Mouse Trouble (originally released in 1944) and Quiet Please! (originally released in 1945) became Oscar® winners for Best Short Subject, Cartoons in 1945 and 1946, respectively. Other shorts featured on the DVD include Sufferin' Cats!, Baby Puss, The Million Dollar Cat, The Bodyguard, Flirty Birdy, Cat Fishin', The Invisible Mouse, Heavenly Puss, Jerry and the Goldfish, Cue Ball Cat, Slicked-up Pup and Jerry's Cousin.

More info on this release can be found here at TV Shows on DVD

Aside from the initial announcement in January I've not heard anything new about the new Tom and Jerry movie. So if anyone at the WB that visits this site and can share some more information about the movie the fans would love to know more about this upcoming movie. :-]

I don't know if today, January 22, 2009, should be considered a dark day or just one filled with dread and foreboding; it's certainly sent a chill through me that's for sure. I just got wind of a planned Tom and Jerry movie.

"Warner Bros. is turning to Tom and Jerry to create its own "Alvin and the Chipmunks"-like family franchise." They are going to have the film "live-action/animated combo". Why? Please tell me why? Call me a purist, but I would have liked them to at least attempt to make it traditionally animated. Oh and the idea of an origin story on how Tom and Jerry met doesn't sound like a good idea conceptually the cartoons sort of made it out that Tom and Jerry were always together and always at each others throats. I sincerely hope that they don't have them talking or singing like the first Tom and Jerry movie.

This news comes via CHUD.com and Variety

More news as it develops.

So I moved into my new home over the weekend and as such, my stuff is in shambles and disorganized. There is a lot of work to be done and internet is a bit sparse right now so I can't get to any emails frequently. I'm not ignoring, I just can't effective get to them right now. I should be back up and running in full gear in about a week....hopefully.

Greetings this 4th day of the New Year! Well, things have been really quite around Tom and Jerry Online these past few months. My excuse is that my life has been in a bit of upheaval since about July. Without going into too much personal detail, honestly you came here for Tom and Jerry not to hear about my life :-], my wife and I sold our condo, moved into rental property and now in the next few days moving into our house that we bought. All happening in the last 6 months on top of a job switch, so I've not been giving Tom and Jerry Online the attention it deserves. Hopefully, in February I can start getting into a regular routine again with this site and get more updates and news happening.

Speaking of February, Tom and Jerry Tales vol 6 gets released on the 3rd of Feb! Check it out:
